October - Black History Month at Park Lane Primary School
The children had a wonderful time learning all about Marcus Rashford and the amazing work that he has done to promote Free School Meals in the UK, during our celebration of Black History. This year's theme was Black British Excellence and Marcus Rashford was deemed a worthy role model, not only as a successful British footballer playing for Manchester United and representing England in our national team, but predominantly for the work he has done with charities across the UK during the Covid lockdown periods to promote Free School Meals for all children.
On Friday 22nd October, the school population came together in the playground to show off the fantastic carnival costumes and masks that the children and staff created in the week prior to the half term break. Following the costume parade, keeping to our Carnival theme, the children and staff enjoyed an hour of dance in the playground. We hope you will enjoy these photos and the small video, which can be found on the School Video page of the Children tab, celebrating Black History Month.
