Most parents and teachers have heard of this one but I thought I'd add it to the list anyway. Who knows, they may add more material if we have mass school closures? It's all completely FREE and there's interactive games, quizzes and videos.
There are three main sections, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 and I've used all of them for whole class teaching and one-to-one tuition lessons - it's on an easy-to-use platform and offers all subjects. A no-brainer - if you're a complete beginner and have no idea where to start, start here.
IXL have separate pages of skills linked to individual Year group. The Y5 page has links to practise both English and Maths skills. Pages are then split into skills of which has a practise question for the children to think about.
Oxford Owl for Home is a bright and colourful website with free resources available to download without registering. Aimed at primary aged children, they offer activities for reading, English, mathematics and interactive games. There's also handy 'How To' videos, to explain tricky concepts.
Oxford Owl's free e-books section is wonderful. It's still free but you'll need a log-in to access it. Great if your little ones are off and they would like to keep in touch with Biff, Chip, Kipper and Floppy the dog!
National Geographic Kids is a great platform for learning and it's totally FREE. There's online games, resources and competitions too. Aimed at primary aged children, there are a wide range of subjects - history, science, geography, English, Maths, Art & Design and PSHE.
This completely FREE online gaming platform is great for learning about geography topics. There are interactive activities on continents, capitals, flags, regions, islands, rivers... the list is endless.
