Lifelong Learning Together

Nursery

Aims of the EYFS

We encourage children to be independent by doing things for themselves because being independent helps them to develop confidence and self-esteem.

We support them to take turns, cooperate and play together as well share their learning experiences.

During their stay in EYFS, they learn to mix happily with others, share toys and equipment, listen and explain things to their peers and adults.

Language work is an essential part of EYFS and we do a lot to promote language development. We encourage speaking and listening and provide good model of language throughout the EYFS curriculum.

We encourage parents/carers to read or tell stories in English or first language because stories help children with their reading, writing and other literacy skills.

EYFS Value: Friendship  – EYFS has been allocated the value of ‘Friendship,’ to support them in achieving in other aspects PSED like developing self-confidence and self-awareness and managing feelings and behaviour.
