School Council Elections

School Council Elections were held on Friday 8th October when the children in years 2 to 6 voted to select one girl and one boy from each class to represent them at school council meetings.  Four candidates were put forward and staff from the Brent Electoral Office visited Park Lane Primary School to supervise the voting process.  Ballot papers were given out and children had to select the candidates that they thought would best represent their class.  The children visited the polling station that was set up in the school hall, the votes were duly counted and the results announced during a special assembly, attended by the Mayor of Brent, on Monday 11th October.

During the assembly, the Red Hats, Junior Travel Ambassadors and Play Leaders were also announced.

Following the assembly, the newly elected school councillors retired to the school library with the Mayor, where they enjoyed morning tea while asking questions about the Mayor's responsibilities in Brent.
